Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo      With celebrations honoring everything from cowboys to cotton, Sikeston and Miner offer a number of special events and festivals throughout the year! Round up the gang and join us in August for the annual Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo. This PRCA sanctioned rodeo is the largest in the State of Missouri and one of the largest in the Midwest.

Rodeo week in Sikeston and Miner, scheduled for August 8 - 11 in 2007, is loads of fun and each night for a week you can enjoy some pretty tough bull riding competition and other rodeo events. The Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo draws the best cowboys and cowgirls from across the nation competing for over $100,000. Each night, following the sporting events, you'll hear live country and western music from Nashville's top entertainers. Learn more about the Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo which is celebrating its 52nd anniversary this year (2004).

Cotton Festival Time!      Rodeo week features the area's biggest parade plus an event you won't want to miss: the Annual Redneck Barbecue! This fun and friendly competition is for amateurs and professionals alike! Along with great food, you can enjoy musical entertainment, games for children and much more at this event held at the Complex Park. You might be considered a true redneck if you can win the famous Chicken Clucking Contest.

If you can't join us for the Rodeo, consider a visit in September when we celebrate our unique agricultural heritage with fun-filled festivals! Boasting the northernmost production of cotton in the United States and the annual Cotton Carnival celebrates "King Cotton" in style! This community tradition features carnival rides, beauty pageants, nightly entertainment and one of Missouri's largest parades. Visitors and residents also enjoy art shows, historic exhibits, musical performances and much more!
