Civil War Re-Enactment Battle of Sikeston and Battle of Sand Ridge

Experience history with a battle between North & South in Downtown Sikeston on Saturday morning. Saturday afternoon’s battle takes place on the 146th anniversary of the actual battle. Battles on Saturday and Sunday cover over 300 acres of open land. Other activities include Saturday Evening Dance and Ladies Tea. Sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society, this annual barbeque contest is a tasty treat for the whole family, featuring games, entertainment, and delicious BBQ. Located at the Sikeston Jaycee Rodeo grounds, the event is sponsored by the Sikeston Area Chamber of Commerce, 471-2498.

18th Annual Ed Nunnelee Memorial Tennis Tournament

Tennis fans are invited to watch or play in one of the Heartland’s largest tennis tournaments. Featuring juniors and adult brackets, this tournament is sure to be fun for the entire family. Cotton Pickin’ Bluegrass Festival

Sikeston Corporate Games XII

Local employers compete for fun, bragging rights, and trophies at this semi-annual contest. The public is welcome to come watch the 15 events, ranging from softball and basketball to horseshoes and fishing, at locations around the city. PBR Bullride

Annual American Legion Cotton Carnival
September 23-September 27
Enjoy carnival rides, candy apples, and contests at the Cotton Carnival. 3rd Annual Rodeo Run 5K
August 2
Athletes and enthusiasts alike are invited to enjoy a day of fun in the sun. The Sikeston Sports Complex provides a fast, flat, closed course. Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each age category. Rodeo Run Day registration begins at 6:30am. Races start at 7:30am and go until 9:30am. 56th Annual Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo

One of the country’s top five rodeos! This worldclass event has become legendary on the PRCA rodeo circuit, bringing in the best cowboys and cowgirls from across the nation to compete for over $100,000 in prize money! Easter Egg Hunt
March 22
Children ages 2-10 are invited to bring their baskets and hunt for more than 1,000 candy-filled eggs at 1pm. The Easter Egg Hunt will be held on the lawn of the Hunter- Dawson State Historic Site, a beautiful antebellum home located at 312 Dawson Road, New Madrid, Missouri. 40th Annual Dogwood-Azaela Festival

The weekend kicks off on Friday with archery and skeet shooting. The fun continues on Saturday when locals and top catfish anglers from around the country come out for a one-day qualifying event on Cabela’s KingKat Tournament Trail. The Car/Bike Show will feature cars and motorcycles from all eras. A Kids Fishing Rodeo for ages 0-12 and will include a chance at a scholarship for all participants. Christmas Candlelight Tours

Enjoy an 1860’s Victorian Christmas during candlelight tours of the Hunter-Dawson home (312 Dawson Road, New Madrid, Missouri). The home will be decorated with hundreds of feet of fresh pine roping, three Christmas trees, ribbons and trimming. Staff will be in period costume and will be on hand to answer questions.
